different from the reverse osmosis membrane used by other water treatment equipment, so it is necessary to pay more attention when
selecting the reverse osmosis membrane of seawater desalination equipment
The fresh water is separated from the salt water by a semi-permeable membrane that penetrates only water but not salt. The fresh water will
naturally penetrate the semi-permeable membrane to the side of the salt water. This phenomenon is called osmosis.When the level of
penetration to the side of the brine reaches a certain height, the natural tendency of penetration is counteracted by this pressure and
equilibrium is achieved.This equilibrium pressure is the osmotic pressure of the system. If a pressure greater than the osmotic pressure is
added to the side of the brine, the water in the brine will pass through the semi-permeable membrane to the fresh water.This process of water
migration as opposed to natural osmosis is called reverse osmosis.This is the basic principle of SWRO reverse osmosis desalination.
