Product Description

 

A film that is selective for the substances it transmits is called a semipermeable film. When the same volume of dilute solution and concentrated solution were placed on both sides of a container, separated by a semi-permeable membrane, the solvent in the dilute solution will naturally pass through the semi-permeable membrane to the side of the concentrated solution, the liquid level of the concentrated side will be higher than that of the dilute solution to a certain height, forming a pressure difference to achieve osmotic equilibrium, this pressure difference is osmotic pressure. The size of the osmotic pressure is determined by the type, concentration and temperature of the concentrated solution, independent of the nature of the semi-permeable membrane. If the concentrated solution side to apply a pressure greater than the osmotic pressure, the concentrated solution of solvent will flow to the dilute solution, the direction of flow of such solvents and the direction of the original penetration of the opposite direction, this process is called reverse osmosis.
